Infiscale at Linux World 2008 in San Francisco

Join us at Linux World this year in Moscone Center August 4-7th! Infiscale will be in the .Org section in booth 17 demonstrating the latest Perceus 1.4 (including embedded via Intel Rapid Boot), Caos NSA, and some previews of cloud computing with Abstractual.

We will also have some cool give-aways (including an Intel mini cluster: dual systems enclosed in a single enclosure) as well as guest vendor representatives.

Current development of Perceus 1.4

This is an update as to what is happening with the 1.4 Perceus tree.

There has been a lot of focus on scalability (speed and handling of very large numbers of nodes), master node fault tolerance as well as a back-end rewrite allowing a much more abstract interface to the back-end database.

Perceus is quickly growing! We would like to thank everyone that has been evangelizing for us, as our installation numbers have been shooting through the roof! We love you guys! Thanks for everything!

Perceus 1.3 has been undergoing a lot of development! Releases come fast

Current development

Perceus: I have been very busy with Perceus-1.3 development. So far it is going very well yet there are so many code changes that we are also in heavy testing. The 1.3 tree is a big architectural enhancement over the previous versions thus this testing is very important.

Warewulf: In concurrent development is Warewulf-3 which will integrate into Perceus and other environments seamlessly. There are a bunch of new features going into Warewulf now which will make it a very capable all around yet scalable Linux monitoring solution.

OK, 1.2.1 is out... Bugs anyone?

So far, Perceus 1.2.1 has been out for several days and so far nobody has complained to me about there being bugs or issues with it. So either, Perceus is getting better, or everyone's expectations of it are getting lower!

In either case, I have setup a new bug-tracking mechanism from the project pages. Feel free to find a problem, then post a bug (you will have to be logged into the site to post bugs).

Have fun kids.
